(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Nine Lives Media (http://www.ninelivesmediainc.com/) announced on Tuesday it has released the Talkin' Cloud 50 report, which recognizes the top companies building and offering cloud services for their customers.

The Talkin' Cloud 50's top 10 companies are OpSource, Apptix, mindSHIFT Technologies, iland Internet Solutions, Alliance Technology Group, Anittel Group Limited, HEIT, NetBoundary, MySecureCloud, and Excel Micro.

The report also profiles cloud aggregators, cloud brokers and cloud services providers. The report is based on data from Talkin' Cloud’s online survey, conducted in March.

The Talkin' Cloud report recognizes top VARs and MSPs in the cloud based on cloud-centric revenues, applications offered, users supported, and additional variables.

Nine Lives Media said it hopes that the "Talkin' Cloud 50 results and company profiles will convince skeptics that cloud computing is more than hype."

The survey says that Talkin' Cloud 50 companies generated $321 million in annual cloud revenues for 2010, up 47 percent from $218 million in 2009.

The average annual cloud revenues among the Talkin' Cloud 50 increased by 47 percent from 2009 to 2010 to generate more than $6 million.

Sixty-eight percent of the companies offer infrastructure as a service, 42 percent offer platform as a service, and 74 percent offer software as a service.

The report also covers specific segment areas such as hosted/SaaS email, virtual servers in the cloud, storage as a service, security as a service, and hosted unified communications.

The most popular cloud partners included VMware, Microsoft BPOS/Office 365, Google Apps, Zenith Infotech, Amazon Simple Storage Service, Rackspace, Intermedia and Ingram Micro Services.
