Web Host Go Daddy Increases Hiring Efforts at Iowa Office

By Justin Lee,  June 13, 2011

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Web hosting provider Go Daddy (http://www.godaddy.com/) announced on Monday it is expand its staff at its Iowa customer service center by 300 employees.

Last July, the company opened an office in Hiawatha which is located just outside of Cedar Rapids. Go Daddy says it hopes to double its staff at the office by the end of the year.

According to Lisa Sherman, recruiting manager at Go Daddy, the company is looking for individuals who have a range of educational backgrounds and experience.

About 95 percent of the 300 jobs available are in customer service. Sherman said that any individual who is passionate about business technology should apply for a position.

The company hosted a networking event and cookout last Thursday to raise awareness for the upcoming hirings, according to a report by The Gazette.

The new hirings signals a boom in the hosting market of Iowa. Recently, two other hosting providers announced they would be expanding its workforce in another popular hosting market over the next couple years.

Rackspace plans to triple its workforce in Austin over the next few years, hosting its "Rackerpalooza" job fair on Saturday to promote the hirings.

Additionally, HostGator is set to hire about 250 employees in Austin over the next 12 months.
