(The Hosting News) – Go Dadddy, web hosting provider, has recently ordered the extraction of an article on one of it’s clients sites that was held in high controversy when it included the name of a former CIA agent in Pakistan. Right at the start of the new year the web hosting company declared an Ultimatum to PakNationalists, stating “either remove the content or they would move their website to another web host in 48 hours.”Through a correspondance email later other on, Go Daddy delcared “please be aware that this decision [to remove the content] is final, and is not up for debate.” The article in question discussed the potential court case against the former CIA Islamabad Station Chief, Jonathan Banks. He was recently accused of being behind the illegal drone attacks on areas of Pakistan.
Since Banks was on a business visa in Pakistan he does not have diplomatic immunity from prosecution in this case. The CIA reported that they pulled the station chief from the Islamabad office after he received mulitple death threats. While the story did run on many media outlets internationally, Go Daddy only ordered the Pakistanian site to take down the article.
The article was removed from the PakNationalist’s Website on January 5th, but can still be viewed via Google cache.
“Please be aware that this decision [to remove the content] is final, and is not up for debate.”
