(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Web hosting provider Network Solutions (http://www.networksolutions.com/) was hit with two distributed denial-of-service consecutive attacks on Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning, preventing its customers from being able to access their websites and servers.

The company's servers now appear to be fully restored as of 10:44 a.m. EST Wednesday, according to an update posted on the company's official blog.
In the update, spokesman Shashi Bellamkonda writes:"All systems working normally today. Thank you all for your suggestions and please use the Network Solutions support page if you need any assistance."

The hosting provider kept customers informed about the status of its service via its blog, as well as its Twitter feed, following the inital DDoS attack.

Customers complained about the outages and their inability to access websites hosted by the company, as well as issues with accessing their email and servers since Tuesday afternoon.

"Our engineers worked quickly to mitigate the attacks and services are in the process of being restored.  We continue to monitor this situation, as potential risk still exists for these attacks to recur," Bellamkonda wrote in a blog post Tuesday afternoon.

Last August, Network Solutions' growsmallbusiness.com site, which offers a widget, was compromised, potentially infecting up to 5 million websites with malware.
