(The Hosting News) – Charges for data transfers onto Amazon Web Services are being cut, Amazon recently announced.
In a post concerning the matter, AWS stated, “There is no charge for inbound data transfer across all services in all regions.
That means, you can upload petabytes of data without having to pay for inbound data transfer fees.
On outbound transfer, you will save up to 68% depending on volume usage.”
While admitting it depends, AWS says that customers could see their costs reduced by “up to 43%.”
The move has been seen by some analysts as a way to compete with Azure by Microsoft. Microsoft recently announced a similar pricing plan for the cloud platform.
The pricing changes start today.
With the announcement, Amazon also released a history of their previous price cuts for AWS.
